Job Description

A genuinely exciting Learning & Development Manager position has arisen within the HR Department of this leading contract cleaning company. You will be responsible for managing the L&D department and all L&D responsibilities including ensuring employee development needs are assessed, plans are in place to support their learning and progression. LOCATION: Candidates will work from an office in South East London Monday to Friday so must live a commutable distance to the office.  

SALARY: £35,000 as a basic salary, 25 days holiday and company pension.  

You will be responsible for managing the L&D department and all L&D responsibilities including ensuring employee development needs are assessed, plans are in place to support their learning and progression and course content is written in a clear and concise manner. 

You will design and oversee the induction process, create, and deliver learning strategies and programs, evaluate individual and company development needs and create development plans for employees. You will implement various learning methods companywide (e.g coaching, job shadowing, on line training). You will liaise with the training teams and assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning and promotion opportunities.  

You will help managers develop their team members through succession planning and ensure all external courses are attended. You will oversee the appraisal process, track budgets, and compile monthly reports of activity to the HR/L&D Director.  You will oversee and support the L&D Apprentice. 

Successful candidates will have a CIPD L&D qualification or HR Degree with L&D modules. Experience of working in L&D, of managing a team and of working closely with all levels of employees. You will have experience of writing training content and delivering training and experience of designing development plans, succession planning and carrying out TNA’s. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office package and have a high verbal and written English (ESOL level 2 or GCSE A-C).
