You must currently be a water treatment engineer; you may have experience of sampling, cold water tank cleaning, chlorination, shower head cleaning, cooling tower deep cleaning, dead leg removals, minor plumbing works, chemical analysis of water samples. You will need a current driving licence, good communication skills, focus and the desire to work for a business with real prospects.
Your role within the business could range from Junior to Senior depending on your previous experience and background. You must have a founding in water treatment, however, the business does have a mentoring strategy in place to train you on any part of the role you are not experienced in.
The day to day duties will depend on your starting level including:-
Taking water samples from cold and hot stored water, temperature testing tanks, outlets and post TMV temperatures, draining water tanks, removing scale or sediment, completing remedials with 2 pack epoxy where necessary, refilling, completing full chlorination of the systems, removing shower heads for cleaning and disinfection.
Taking samples from cooling towers or closed system to complete basic chemical drop tests, cooling tower deep cleans and chlorination, tank room surveys, pipe work, diagrams, equipment condition reports, TMV servicing, dosing equipment servicing and calibration, system dosing, you may even be involved in ACOP L8 Risk Assessments or flushing contracts.
The business has a long track record of working with prestigious accounts. You need to be presentable, confident and articulate, your role will not be directly customer facing, however, you will be on their sites on a regular basis.
Long term growth for you may be to Team Leadership, specialising in cooling towers, closed systems, chemical analysis, training to become a full ACOP L8 Risk Assessor, Project Management, potentially even sales if you prefer.
