Applications Service Engineer – CNC, Machine Tools

Job Description

A great opportunity for an Applications Service Engineer has arisen for a machine tools company who offer the most extensive metal cutting machine tools and machines available in the UK metal cutting market. 

Established in the early 1950`s the company supply quality machine tools and machines including CNC electronic and conventional lathes, CNC electric and conventional milling machines, PLC and CNC grinding machines, sawing and drilling ranging from £2,000 up to £1.5m for engineering companies including BAE Systems, Dyson and Ford Motor Company and education mainly universities and colleges. 

From initial quotation to final commissioning, all functions including demonstration, time studies, delivery, offloading and final positioning. Training is provided if required and after sales are operated in the office. 

SALARY:         £32,900

LOCATION:    This is a Field based role covering the whole of the UK and travelling worldwide is occasionally involved. When you’re not field based you are required to do in-house work at the factory in Kent. 

As an Applications Service Engineer you will be attending pre-arranged visits for pre-inspection and fault-finding issues on metal cutting machine tools. Once the customer has approved costs you will undertake the repairs required. Being an Applications Service Engineer you will also provide machine commissioning and customer training on a wide range of machine tools including CNC, Electronic/PLC and Conventional machines. You will also provide support when required on the demonstration of new and used conventional and CNC metal cutting machine tools. Overnight stays are included so looking for a flexible individual. 

To be successful for this role as an Applications Service Engineer you must be conversant in ISO programming and familiar with leading CNC controls including FANUC, HEIDENHAIN, HAAS, SIEMENS and other controls. Be conversant and have a good understanding of PLC controls. When attending sites, you must be able to operate the machines fully.
