SALARY: £16,000 - £20,000 basic, bonus, overtime, lots of ongoing training, in company mentoring scheme, regular salary reviews, healthcare, pension, excellent career progression.
My client, an industry leader, has been established since the 1980’s, growing steadily with Sites across the world. They manufacture large and essential parts for the petrochemical, oil refining and general chemical industries. They are looking for the right person to come on as a trainee Mechanical Engineer with a view to mentoring you up to fully qualified engineer and above – you are the future of the company.
PRODUCTS – Manufacture of essential parts for the petrochemical, refining and chemical industries.
LOCATION: You will be spending prolonged periods of time away from home, but also need to be a reasonable commute to the office near Orpington
In this role, you will be given full training and mentoring. Your time will be spent observing, learning and developing a range of engineering skills and processes. This will be achieved via shadowing skilled Engineers on Sites throughout the UK as well as attending training courses and completing qualifications.
You will learn how to read and interpret technical drawings, maintain and use a range of workshop equipment and keep up-to-date with changes in health and safety and industry legislation.
As the role advances, you will be given more responsibility which will result in regular salary reviews and develop you in to a fully qualified Engineer.
To be successful for this role, you must have a full UK driving license, be commutable to the office near Orpington daily and be willing to spend extended periods of time away from home.
You must have a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent with a passion and interest within mechanical engineering. Experience of working away on Sites would be highly advantageous.
This role would be suitable for candidates that have been doing roles such as: trainee engineer, trainee mechanical engineer, mechanical engineer, site engineer.
