Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor – Maternity Cover

Job Description

A long-term maternity cover opportunity has arisen with this well-established manufacturer of plumbing supplies. They are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their team on a long terms placement that will last in excess of 1 year. If this sounds of interest, please apply ASAP.  

LOCATION: You will be working from an office in the Gillingham area 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday 

SALARY: £24,000 as a basic salary with 20 days holiday etc. This role is to cover maternity leave. Hoping for an immediate start so that you can shadow the existing Warehouse Manager with a view to staying on until September 2019.  

This company sell a wide range of plumbing supplies to plumbing merchants nationwide.  

You will be responsible for ensuring the same-day despatch of goods to customers unless otherwise requested, ensuring the Warehouse environment is safe, clean and tidy, ensure all stock is located in the correct areas. To supervise the work of the Assistant Logistics Supervisor and Operations Assistants whilst working in the Warehouse. 

Key responsibilities include; ensuring that all orders are processed and despatched in an efficient and timely manner. To ensure that all goods are stored in to correct spaces in the warehouse, Support the work of the Packing Supervisor to enable effective flow of work. To unload all vehicles delivering goods into the site and to verify the contents as stated on the delivery note. To load vehicles taking stock from the site and to complete the manifest for the daily courier service. To ensure that the Warehouse/Despatch area is kept clean and tidy in accordance with the company’s Health & Safety policy. To maintain the Fork-lift and lifting equipment in good/serviceable order. To supervise the work of the Assistant Logistics Supervisor. 

Successful candidates must have previous experience of working as a Warehouse Manager and have a forklift truck license. You must have strong planning/organisation and prioritisation skills. You must be resilient and capable of coping with pressure. You will have stock control experience, health and Safety awareness and be aware of the company Quality System requirements, reporting report any non-conformances.
